Choosing an Rx vial label size is less about picking a number and more about matching the form your pharmacy system already prints. Here's how to work it out.
Thermal printers use rolls; laser printers use sheets. That alone narrows the choice. If you're unsure of the difference, read Thermal vs. Laser Prescription Labels.
Pharmacy software prints to a fixed layout: where the vial label, auxiliary/warning labels, and any receipt or patient information sit on the form. A label that is the wrong size or layout will print out of position. The most reliable approach is to match the style you already use — check a current label, your print routine, or a past invoice for the form or style number.
Stat Products' stock sizes:
Longer laser sheets generally leave more room for the extra parts of the form, such as receipts and patient information, alongside the vial label.
Thermal labels are sold by the full case (5,760 labels) with free freight. Laser labels are sold by the carton of 1,000, with free freight on orders of 30,000+ labels. See Shipping & Returns.
